Our mission is to provide you with personalized, high-quality care. We are dedicated to improving and maintaining your health through treating acute fractures, chronic diseases and preventative care. We understand that there is no such thing as one-size-fits-all cure, so we never use a one-size-fits-all approach to your diagnosis.
Aileen Danko, M.D. is a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon with over 22 years of experience. She was first a pediatric intensive care nurse at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and then went on to medical school at Temple University. She completed her orthopaedic training at Duke University and a pediatric orthopaedic fellowship at the Shriner's for Children in Greenville, SC. Dr. Danko moved from south Florida where she had extensive experience at not only Level 1 trauma centers, but also community orthopaedics for children.
Our goal is to improve and maintain your overall health and to empower you with an understanding of your condition and wellness plan. Dr. Danko will review the xrays with you and describe the problem in detail. You will have a full understanding of your child's problem before you leave the office. Let's get started today on a path to your life-long wellness.
If your child's problem needs an operation, Dr. Danko will perform them at Baptist Hospital in
Jackson, MS
The fracture will be treated in a cast or a splint, which ever is best for your child. In some situations a waterproof cast may be offered.
You can rely on us to treat all of your child's chronic orthopaedic needs. This may be for cerebral palsy, scoliosis, flatfeet or other conditions.
There are fractures that need special casts. Hip disorders may need a spica cast for treatment also.
Dr. Danko will evaluate and give personalized care for each problem.
Your child can be seen at the office soon after birth. Complex hand or foot deformities will be evaluated and treated. Like this child, who after surgery, now has a normal looking foot, which will be better off for daily function with shoe wear.
You may know someone in Mississippi that has bowed legs. It is better to treat this before the growth plates close in their legs. It is better to tackle the problem sooner than later.
Most flatfeet can be treated with shoe inserts. But when flatfeet are painful or severe, there are surgical procedures than can be done to restore the arch in the foot.
In a child, there are fractures that do not need surgery because of the open growth plates. Certain fractures will repair themselves in good alignment because of the open growth plates. It's hard to understand but Dr. Danko is a pediatric orthopaedic specialist who can determine the proper treatment for your child.
If your child has a sports injury, your child can be evaluated. Further studies will be ordered such as MRI or CT scan to determine the problem. The patient above had a knee arthroscopy to clean the medial meniscal tear.
We are located at 203 W. Peace St. Canton, MS 39046.
We are at the southwest corner
"on the square" in Canton.
There is a spacious waiting room with a play area for siblings or the patient. It is a calm atmosphere and very welcoming like no other.
The underwater themed xray room is intriguing and will engage the child while their xray is performed.
